Sawdust Pallet Machine: Turkish Furniture Maker's Visit

In October 30, 2026 a furniture manufacturer from Kayseri, Turkey spent two days at PalletMach evaluating a sawdust pallet machine for its own plant. The factory runs three panel lines and generates about 90 tons of sawdust, planer shavings and edge trim a month, all of it sold cheap to a pellet plant, while the pallets it needs for exporting furniture are bought in from outside.

Why a Turkish Furniture Factory Needs Its Own Sawdust Pallet Machine

Purchased pallets create three problems. Cost keeps rising while the plant's own residue is sold for almost nothing. Quality varies from batch to batch, and one weak pallet can mean a rejected container. The third is compliance: wooden packaging entering the EU must meet ISPM-15, and heat treatment certificates from small suppliers are not always reliable.

A compressed wood sawdust pallet machine solves all three at once. The pallet is moulded from the factory's own residue under high temperature and pressure, so it leaves the press as an ISPM-15 fumigation-free sawdust pallet, with no nails and no certificate to chase.

The Visit: Four Stations From Sawdust Pile to Finished Pallet

Our project engineer Mr.Yang ran the client's own material, carried from Kayseri, in the full wood pallet machine line. Oversized shavings and edge trim enter the wood sawdust crusher. They then pass the sawdust drum dryer, which cuts moisture from about 35% to 5-15%. Dried fibre and MDI adhesive are blended in a horizontal mixer, and the mixture is compressed in a 1,250 ton hydraulic hot press for 4 to 5 minutes.

The delegation spent most of its time at the dryer and the press, which is what we expect from an experienced buyer. Those two stations decide whether the pallet holds its shape in a humid warehouse and whether it holds the load four high.

Sawdust Drum Dryer: The Step Most Buyers Underestimate

Wet or over-dried sawdust is the usual cause of failed presswood pallets. If the moisture is too high, the trapped steam cannot escape inside the pressing cycle, and the pallet develops internal blisters that only appear weeks later in a cold warehouse.

Our drum dryer machine, holds outlet moisture inside that Within 15% window with automatic temperature control, and can be fired by natural gas, biomass pellets or steam. One practical point: dryer capacity must be matched to press capacity, not to waste volume.

Trial Results on the 1,250 Ton Compressed Wood Sawdust Pallet Machine

Pallets came off the press and were tested in front of the delegation. Pallet size 1200 x 1000 x 145 mm, mould changeable to 1200 x 800 mm. Weight 22 to 25 kg. Static load 6 tons, dynamic load 1.5 tons.
